God Is Not Great - Christopher Hitchens
This is the book that finally sent me over the hard edge into atheism. I have always been an atheist, but I have always been an understanding, sympathetic, 'looking for God in all the wrong places' type of atheist. After reading this book, I finally realized that trying to coddle and placate the religious institutions is just short of sin, itself. As Hitchens so succinctly states: Religion poisons everything! It does, it does. My "be nice because religion deserves respect" phase is over — my husband is thrilled — and I am proudly, loudly, and assertively declaring that I am an ATHEIST. All because of this book.
Go. Read. Enlighten your primitive superstitious mind. We all need mental caffeine every now and then.
