These are columns I penned for, yet again, Watermark. What can I say, the editor kept me busy! The first set is a fun-loving column of the queer bar scene in Orlando that I wrote under the name "Spacegirl Spiff" (in loving nod to Calvin and Hobbes); ironically, I rarely actually went to the events I wrote about, relying instead on a select group of "man on the street" contacts to keep me in the know. The other column I began after the Internet/Web revolution really started to hit and was meant to be a guide to finding interesting/informative sites online.
BARTABS
I am not going to list here every column I wrote; a column appeared in each issue of Watermark for nearly two years, which means about 50 columns were written (Watermark was published once every two weeks). I think what is here is plenty enough to give you an idea of what the gig was about.
- All Party Systems Go! (the first column)
- Update Your Galactic Party Star Map!
- Resolved: To eat, Drink, and be Merry
COMPU-QUEER
Again, I am not going to post every column here. This also appeared in every issue of Watermark for some time. These articles were written in about 1999 or so and therefore are nearly historic in the way they document the early days of the 'Net. Unless you really are interested in how I handle an informative, regularly written column, you might want to skip these, because they are incredibly boring and most of the websites I wrote about are long, long gone.
- Your Guide to Gay Space (the first column)
- Radio is Dead
- Myth Adventures in eMail
