Calvin And Hobbes - Bill Watterson

What can I say that has not been said before about the brilliant comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes? Well written, well drawn, well done! It is my belief that this comic is a deep, penetrating mirror of our world, aside from being generally hilarious. One of my favorite quotes, "My brain is trying to kill me," comes from Calvin.

I've seen critics get pretty philosophical about this comic strip, but on the whole it seems pretty simple to me: a kid trying to make sense of his world in the only way that makes sense to him. I identify with both Calvin, the misunderstood, and Hobbes, the contemplative. It is a great comic to read, re-read, and read again.

Just as important to me personally, the collections were cherished by both of my parents. A passionate adoration of Calvin and Hobbes bound all of my family together, and it was something we could always talk about, no matter what else was going on. When I read a Calvin and Hobbes collection, it makes my heart remember what home used to be.
